DatsChat
DatsChat is your messages — a list of your friends, a thread with each of them, and a call button beside every name.
The Chat tab opens on your friends rather than on a list of old conversations, so starting a new one is the same action as continuing an old one: tap the person. A green dot means they are around. Below your friends, platform accounts — DatsMe, Customer Support, Tech Support — sit in their own DATSME section so they never crowd out the people you know.
How to
- Send a message to a friendThe everyday one — you want to say something to someone.
What it can do
- Message any of your friends, with the thread kept per person
- See who is around, from the green dot on their avatar
- Call a friend straight from the list, without opening the thread first
- Send someone credits as a gift from the same row
- Have a message read aloud to you
- Start a group call
- Search your friends, and reach Invite, Pending and Discover from the same screen
Worth knowing
⭐ The phone icon on each row places a real call — see Voice calls. ⚠️ It is the LEFT of the two icons; the right one gifts credits, and the gap between them opens the conversation instead.
⭐ Read aloud is on messages themselves, if you would rather listen than read.
Who can see it
Chat is private between you and the person you are writing to — the Chat tile on your own page is marked Private — only you. See Who can see what.
