Notifications
Two different things share the word: the bell at the top of your page, which collects what happened while you were away, and whether your phone rings for an incoming call — which is set per device under My Devices.
Tapping the bell opens a short list in place rather than taking you to another page, with See all at the top if there is more than fits. The number on the bell is what is waiting; dismissing an item takes it down by one straight away. ⚠️ Where you turn notifications on is somewhere else entirely — see the note at the end, because it is not where anyone looks first.

Worth knowing
⛔ Turning call notifications on is under Settings → My Devices, not under anything called "Notifications". ⭐ There are steps for it above now — until 2026-09-02 this warning was the only place that fact lived, which is why asking an assistant "turn off call notifications" sent people to the wrong screen: a page that warns but never instructs loses to one that instructs about something adjacent. This is the single most confusing thing about the feature, and it is deliberate rather than an accident: whether this phone or laptop may ring you is a fact about the device you are holding, not about your account, so the control sits with the rest of your devices. It is per-device — enabling it here does not enable it on your other machines, and there is a Disable on this device beside it.
⚠️ /settings/notifications still exists but only redirects, because old links and messages point at it. If you land somewhere that looks unrelated, that is why.
⭐ On an iPhone, notifications require the app to be installed to the Home Screen first — until then the enable option is replaced by a line explaining that.
⚠️ A YOUR PET group sits above the built-in tones, and this guide does not yet describe what it offers. On the walked account it read only "My pet doesn't have a voice yet." — and that is not a fact about that pet. Pet voices are per-environment data that each environment generates once, and the environment walked had never had that run, so every account there shows that line. Documenting the row from the empty state would have described the absence of a feature as the feature. It gets written when there is a voice to hear and the feature's own acceptance run has happened — steps come from a completed walk or they do not go in.
