Keep a shortcut to your folders on your computer

You open your folders often from a desktop or laptop and want to get there in one double-click.

Before you start

  • You are looking at your own page, signed in
  • A computer with a desktop — dragging is a mouse gesture, so not a phone

Steps

  1. Find the PERSONAL FOLDERS heading on your page.

The heading is a link — the small → after it is the sign. Clicking it opens the page that lists all your folders.

  2. Press on the heading's words, hold, and drag them out of the browser onto your desktop. Then let go.

  3. For one folder rather than all of them, right-click its tile and choose Copy link, then paste the link wherever you keep your links.

On a phone, press and hold the tile instead. The link doesn't give anyone access — it opens the folder only for someone who can already open it.

You will know it worked when

A shortcut appears on the desktop. On Windows and on a Mac it is named Personal Folders. Double-clicking it opens your folders in your browser; if you are signed out there, it takes you to sign in first and then on to your folders. After Copy link, a Link copied message appears.

If it does not work

On Linux the shortcut is named after the site and the time instead of Personal Folders.
That name is chosen by the desktop, not by DatsMe. The shortcut works; rename it to whatever you like.
A copied folder link opens Personal Folders with a note that the folder was moved or renamed.
A folder's link is built from its name, so renaming or moving the folder changes it. Copy the link again.
