Save a file to a folder by email
You are on a device that does not have DatsMe on it, or someone else has a file you want. Anything that can send an email can put a file into your folders.
Before you start
- Your own email is verified
- You know your six-digit code — it is shown at the top of the Commands folder in Mail
Steps
On the bottom bar, tap Mail, then open the Commands folder.
Read your code from the strip at the top. Tap Regenerate any time to change it.
From any mail app, email your DatsMe address with the subject DatsStorage: your code and the file attached. When you are forwarding, replace the pre-filled subject — the subject is the only thing that unlocks a request, so a forwarded subject will not work.
Optionally put datsSave: My Music on the first line of the body to choose a folder, and name: Live set to name the file. With no body at all, each attachment goes where an upload of that type would go.
The email appears in Commands with a card. Tap Approve and the file is saved. To skip the tap next time, set Mode to Automatic — that works for addresses you have registered.
You will know it worked when
The file appears in the folder, and the request shows as Done in the Commands folder.
